The Project Plan in Paratext is a powerful tool to ensure a project stays on task and doesn’t miss any important steps in the translation process. In addition, it automates a lot of the checking that would otherwise have to be done manually.
How to apply and customize a Project Plan that will work for you
Does your Paratext project already have a project plan set up?
Your project will have a blue icon like this in the upper right corner of the text editing window. When you click on it, it opens a list of tasks for the current book.
Yes, my project already has a plan set up
If it uses the correct base plan, review steps 3, 4, and 5 below.
Replacing an existing project plan
If it is not the base plan you need to use, you’ll need to copy any progress data you want to save from it and delete it before applying a new plan. Begin with step 1 if you want to save the progress data, or with step 2 if the existing progress data is not important.
No, I am applying a plan for the first time
This set of 7 videos shows administrators how to set up and use the Project Plan for a translation project. They were made for Paratext 8, so you may need to use the search bar in Paratext to locate the equivalent options in Paratext 9.
