We always recommend running the latest version (currently Paratext 9.4) because it has the most up-to-date improvements and bug fixes.

Paratext 9.3

The files and instructions to install Paratext 9.3 are below.

Paratext 9.3 will automatically upgrade to the latest version unless you turn off updates. You should turn OFF automatic updates (instructions below) if you need to use Paratext 9.3.

Important note: The latest versions of Paratext can now connect with either the newer 9.2 version of Paratext Live OR the older 9.1 version of Paratext Live. Please consider upgrading.

Install Paratext 9.3

  1. Run the standard or offline installer for Paratext 9.3.
    1. Optional: Use this checksum file to verify 9.3 installer.
  2. Install the Paratext 9.3.103.16 update.

Disable Automatic Updates

  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Paratext93\ParatextUpdate
  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
C:\Users\‎{USERNAME}\‎
AppData\‎Local\‎
Paratext93\‎ParatextUpdate

Paratext 9.2

The files and instructions to install Paratext 9.2 are below.

Paratext 9.2 will automatically upgrade to the latest version unless you turn off updates. You should turn OFF automatic updates (instructions below) if you need to use Paratext 9.2.

Important note: The latest versions of Paratext can now connect with either the newer 9.2 version of Paratext Live OR the older 9.1 version of Paratext Live. Please consider upgrading.

Install Paratext 9.2

  1. Run the standard or offline installer for Paratext 9.2.
    1. Optional: Use this checksum file to verify 9.2 installer.
  2. Install the Paratext 9.2.102.20 update.

Disable Automatic Updates

  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Paratext92\ParatextUpdate
  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:

Paratext 9.1

The files and instructions to install Paratext 9.1 are below.

Paratext 9.1 will automatically upgrade to the latest version unless you turn off updates. You should turn OFF automatic updates (instructions below) if you need to use Paratext 9.1.

Important note: The latest versions of Paratext can now connect with either the newer 9.2 version of Paratext Live OR the older 9.1 version of Paratext Live. Please consider upgrading.

Install Paratext 9.1

  1. Run the standard or offline installer for Paratext 9.1.
    1. Optional: Use this checksum file to verify 9.1 installer.
  2. Install the Paratext 9.1.104.152 update.

Disable Automatic Updates

  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
      C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Paratext91\ParatextUpdate
  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:

Paratext 9.0

The files and instructions to install Paratext 9.0 on a 32-bit Windows system are below.

Paratext 9.0 will automatically upgrade to the latest version unless you turn off updates.

You should turn OFF automatic updates (instructions below) if you have Windows 7 (or earlier) or a 32-bit version of Windows, which are NOT compatible with 9.1.

Install Paratext 9.0

  1. Run the standard or offline installer for Paratext 9.0.
    1. Optional: Use this checksum file to verify 9.0 installer.
  2. Install the Paratext 9.0.103.51 update.

Disable Automatic Updates

  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
      C:\Users\‎{USERNAME}\‎AppData\‎Local\‎Paratext90\‎ParatextUpdate
  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
C:\Users\‎{USERNAME}\‎
AppData\‎Local\‎
Paratext90\‎ParatextUpdate

Paratext 8 (Support Ended Dec 31, 2021)

Support for Paratext 8 ended on Dec 31, 2021.

Paratext 8 is still able to be used together with Paratext 9 as it shares the same data and registration code, but we highly recommend updating to Paratext 9 as soon as possible.

Install Paratext 8.0

  1. Install Paratext 8.0.
    1. Optional: Use this checksum file to verify 8.0 installer.
  2. Install the Paratext 8.0.100.99 update.

Paratext 8 data must not share the same directory as Paratext 7 data.

Disable Automatic Updates

  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
      C:\Users\‎{USERNAME}\‎AppData\‎Local\‎Paratext80\‎ParatextUpdate
  1. Turn OFF automatic updates in Paratext:
    1. Go to Paratext Menu > Help
    2. Uncheck Automatically Update Paratext
    3. If an update was already downloaded, delete the downloaded update file from:
C:\Users\‎{USERNAME}\‎
